Henry Street Residence

Project details: The homeowners wanted to maintain the existing open kitchen layout as it is perfect for easy entertaining. However, in a rarity for most clients they identified that the space was too open with an abundance of unused space. Fisher Kitchens proposed adding a wall to house a walk in pantry, maximising the kitchen’s storage potential.

If you're after advice for a new rangehood for your kitchen renovation, we've got you covered. A good rangehood keeps the air in your home clean and fresh by removing smoke, cooking odours, oil, grease and heat from your home either ducting the air outside or recirculating it back into the kitchen after being filtered.

At Fisher Kitchens, we are noting that undermount rangehoods, integrated into the Kitchen cupboards, are an increasingly popular choice as they are unobtrusive and hidden away.

𝐾𝑒𝑦 𝑓𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑓𝑜𝑟:
1. Noise level - Ask to turn it on and listen instore. You should be able to hold a conversation while it's on.
2. Light - Two globes over the cooking area generally provide better visibility than one. Make sure the globes are easy to replace.
3.Filters - All rangehoods have a filter. Aluminium mesh is best. They are easy to clean and are also the cheapest, as they don't need replacement like non-washable filters.
4. Size - The rangehood width should match the cooktop cooking surface area.
5. Extraction - A rangehood’s extraction rate is measured in cubic metres per hour (m3/h) and rangehoods with air extraction rates over 600 m3/h are considered the most powerful.

Emma, Jordan and French Bulldog Frank moved into their East Adelaide home in 2022. Soon after, they planned a major renovation to bring the 1990s addition in line with the historic 1910 features of the original part of the home.

However, the timeline and plans changed when Emma fell pregnant.

Curves are naturally soothing to our eyes; they instantly create softness. Curves are seen as being graceful and feminine and have the ability to make us feel warm and safe.

BLACK KITCHENS

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Adding warmth offsets the dark features of a black kitchen. In this design, the timber beams, wall panelling and earth tone spashback add a sense of relief where the dark cabinetry does not become overbearing.

Darker cabinets often work best when they contrast with a lighter ceiling, floor and walls.

Both admit that working with your spouse isn’t for everybody, but having an established, long term relationship well before they agreed to work together meant they had a strong knowledge of each other's quirks and idiosyncrasies.
